FotoVac newsreader is an easy-to-use newsgroup scanner that helps a user find images on the internet newsgroups. The software supports multiple Newsservers to ensure you find the content that you are interested in. Before you search, you can list all the newsgroups that you want to search and FotoVac will scan all the groups for images. In case you want to do a more detailed Usenet search, you can refine your search by filtering keywords, the poster and even the message length. The newsreader was made for saving a newsgroup user time from having to download every header and scan every article. FotoVac can ignore non image files while scanning and automatically check for duplicates in case something is reposted.

Once you download the pictures, FotoVac will allow you to sort the pictures by adjusting the size of the thumbnail as well as viewing it in full screen mode if that is your preference. The newsreader supports 9 image formats- BMP, EMF, JIF, PLX, JPEG, PNG, TGA, WMF and TIFF. If you are interested in downloading images from Usenet but do not feel like browsing for them yourself, Footpace may be a good tool for you.

If you are interested in testing this newsreader, make sure you have a Binary Usenet service.
