BinTube Setup Guide for Supernews

This guide will walk you through setting up BinTube to work with Supernews servers. If you haven't signed up for Usenet access then check out Supernews. They offer 1,350 days of binary retention, 30 connections, SSL encryption and servers in the US, Europe and Hong Kong. Download BinTube

Visit the BinTube newsreader homepage (BinTube.com) to download the latest version of the client.

Install BinTube

The installation is simple. Choose a folder for the program to install and whether or not you want desktop or quick launch icons.

Configure BinTube for Supernews

Once BinTube is launched you can define the news server setup. To do so click on Options → Server Settings

Now you can enter in the server information in the screen below:

The server properties screen includes everything you need to get up and running. Simply enter the information as follows:
A - Server Address: news.supernews.com
B - Port: use port 443 or 563 for secure or port 119, 80 or 23 for standard connections.
C - Connections: Super News supports up to 30 connections.
D - Check "Use SSL Encryption" for secure access.
E - Check "Server Requires Login"
F - Enter Username provided in email
G - Enter Password provided in email
