VyprVPN Mac OS X Setup Guide

Use this guide to easily setup Mac OS X with a VyprVPN PPTP connection in the US (Los Angeles, Washington, D.C.), Europe (Amsterdam) or Asia (Hong Kong). First you will need is a VyprVPN account. If you already have one skip to step 1. Otherwise either visit Giganews and sign up for a Diamond account which includes free Vypr VPN access or visit Golden Frog and sign up for VyprVPN access. Step 1: How to Setup VyprVPN for Mac OS X
Click on the "Apple icon" and then "System Preferences"

Click "Network" under Internet and Wireless
Internet - Network
Click on the "Plus (+) icon" in the bottom left.
Add connection
That will display the following page:

VPN interface name
Click the Interface dropdown and choose "VPN"

Click the VPN Type dropdown and choose "PPTP"

Set the Service Name to "VyprVPN"

Click "Create"
VPN server address
Click the VyprVPN connection on the left (make sure its highlighted)

You have some options here depending on which VyprVPN server you wish to connect through. Choose one of the following values and enter it into the "Server Address" field:

Giganews VyprVPN server addresses:
- us1.vpn.giganews.com for Los Angeles, California
- us2.vpn.giganews.com for Washington, D.C.
- eu1.vpn.giganews.com for Amsterdam
- hk1.vpn.giganews.com for Hong Kong

Golden Frog VyprVPN server addresses (without Giganews access):
- us1.vpn.goldenfrog.com for Los Angeles, California
- us2.vpn.goldenfrog.com for Washington, D.C.
- eu1.vpn.goldenfrog.com for Amsterdam
- hk1.vpn.goldenfrog.com for Hong Kong

Next type in your "Account Name"

Click "Authentication Settings" to display the following screen:
Password
Enter your "Password" and click "Ok"

Now click on the "Advanced" button to display the following screen:
Send traffic
Check "Send all traffic over VPN connection" and click "Ok"

Click "Apply"

Step 2: Connecting to VyprVPN with Mac OS X
Click on the "Apple icon" and then "System Preferences"

Click "Network" under Internet and Wireless

Click on "VyprVPN" on the left to display the connection screen:
Connect to VyprVPN
Click "Connect"

Step 3: Disconnecting from VyprVPN with Mac OS X
Click on the "Apple icon" and then "System Preferences"

Click "Network" under Internet and Wireless

Click on "VyprVPN" on the left to display the connection screen:
Disconnect from VyprVPN
Click "Disconnect"
