VyprVPN Windows 7 Setup Guide
Use this guide to easily setup Windows 7 with a VyprVPN PPTP connection in the US (Los Angeles, Washington, D.C.), Europe (Amsterdam) or Asia (Hong Kong). First you will need is a VyprVPN account. If you already have one skip to step 1. Otherwise either visit Giganews and sign up for a Diamond account which includes free Vypr VPN access or visit Golden Frog and sign up for VyprVPN access. Step 1: How to Setup VyprVPN for Windows 7
Click on the Windows button (blue Windows logo)
Click on "Control Panel"
The following screen will display your control panel options:
Click on "Network and Internet" as highlighted above.
The following screen will be displayed:
Click "Network and Sharing Center" as hihlighted above.
The following screen will be displayed:
Click "Set up a new connection or network" as hihlighted above.
The following screen will be displayed:
Click "Connect to a workplace" as hihlighted above and clck Next.
The following screen will be displayed:
Click "Use my Internet Connection (VPN)" as hihlighted above.
The following screen will be displayed:
You have some options here depending on which VyprVPN server you wish to connect through. Choose one of the following values and enter it into the "Internet address" field:
Giganews VyprVPN server addresses:
- us1.vpn.giganews.com for Los Angeles, California
- us2.vpn.giganews.com for Washington, D.C.
- eu1.vpn.giganews.com for Amsterdam
- hk1.vpn.giganews.com for Hong Kong
Golden Frog VyprVPN server addresses (without Giganews access):
- us1.vpn.goldenfrog.com for Los Angeles, California
- us2.vpn.goldenfrog.com for Washington, D.C.
- eu1.vpn.goldenfrog.com for Amsterdam
- hk1.vpn.goldenfrog.com for Hong Kong
Type VyprVPN in the "Destination name" field.
Check the "Don't connect now" box and click Next.
Enter your account information - "User name" and "Password"
Click "Remember this password" and click "Create".
Step 2: Connecting to VyprVPN with Windows 7
Click on the "Network icon" in the Windows Taskbar
Click on VyprVPN and then click the "Connect button"
Type in your username and password and click Connect.
Step 3: Disconnecting from VyprVPN with Windows 7
To disconnect from VyprVPN simply click on the "Network icon", click VyprVPN and click Disconnect.
