This guide will walk you through setting up Newsbin Pro to work with Giganews servers. If you haven't already signed up for Usenet access then definitely give Giganews a try. Step 1 - Install Newsbin Pro
If you haven't already installed Newsbin then you have an opportunity to enter the Giganews server information during the installation.

As illustrated in figure 1 you can set the Giganews server address to news.giganews.com during installation. If you subscribe to a Giganews account that includes SSL then check the box to enable it. Checking the login box presents the following screen:

Enter the login information you received in the signup email from Giganews into the Username and Password fields.
OR
If you have already installed Newsbin Pro and didn't get the news server and login information then you can do it from within Newsbin Pro.

Once Newsbin Pro is open simply click Utilities - Server as shown above. This will bring up the Server Options page shown below.

The server options screen includes everything you need to get up and running. Simply enter the information as follows:
- Click on New Server
- Name: anything you want
- Server Address: enter in news.giganews.com
- Connections: up to 10 or 20 depending on Giganews account.
- Username and Password: provided in email
Set SSL Port: check if using SSL. You can use port 563 or 443 for secure connections or port 563, 80 or 23 for standard connections.
- click OK
It's that simple to configure Newsbin Pro for Giganews. Enjoy!
