Newsgroup Image Collector is one of the older newsreaders on the market. NIC was one of the first newsreaders that specialized in downloading image files from the newsgroups. After you set up the newsreader with your favorite newsgroup provider, Newsgroup Image Collector will download articles from your specified newsgroup. As it is downloading, the Newsreader will automatically scan each article to see if it contains a image file. To prevent the newsreader from downloading all images or unwanted images, you can filter out certain images with advanced filter settings. You can filter by keywords or tell the software to ignore certain images. You can even go as far as filtering images by the size of the file, height and width of the image and also by its file extension. This software also allows you to share the images with friends once it is downloaded. The built in email wizard allows you to send the file just with the click of a button. If you are interested in downloading from Usenet, especially pictures, this newsreader will do the job.
